2009 Vintage News
2009 has been a very good vintage for us. Apart from a late January - early February heatwave which reduced the Shiraz yield, our vines have produced grapes of outstanding quality.
The resultant wines are reflecting their heritage by being true to their vintage, their careful upbringing in the vineyard and their varieties.
The rosé is looking particularly impressive with beautiful cabernet characters and flavours as it heads towards bottling in a few weeks time.
The reds..... well as usual they are taking their time and doing their own thing. They finished their primary fermentation in barrel, are awaiting a natural malo-lactic fermentation to kick in and like their predecessors, should spend nearly 2 years in wood before bottling.
Given the fruit quality, we are expecting some very special wines to emerge sometime in 2011.
